Suwa-jinja Shrine Main Building

Suwa-jinja Shrine Main Building[Swajin Jashaden]
Suwa Shrine is a shrine located in Imura, located on the north shore of Lake Shoji, and is adjacent to Ryusenji, a temple of the Soto sect. He has been worshiped in the long history as a deity of the Shojin district.
The main shrine is a wood shingle-roofed building of Ichimasha, and its characteristic can be said to be the architectural design. Decorative sculptures everywhere, including structural materials, are extremely diverse. The materials range from animals and plants to Chinese events, the design is splendid, the carving method is delicate and delicate, and the carving technique is excellent.
From the description on the stored building tag, it is clear that the main shrine of Suwa Shrine was rebuilt in Tenpo 14 (1843).
The cover of Suwa Shrine was built in Meiji 39(1906). It protects the main shrine as a shrine and also serves as a worship hall when worshiping. Hyakunin Isshu is drawn on the ceiling board of the cover house, and although there are known cases of painting on the ceiling, it seems that the example of drawing Hyakunin Isshu is rare.
Of the "Suwa Shrine", the thatched roof of the shrine was preserved and repaired in Heisei 23, and is in good condition.
The "Suwa Shrine" is a valuable building whose main shrine conveys the architectural style symbolized by the over-decorated sculptures of the end of the Edo period, and the cover house still retains the form of thatched roof as a modern Japanese-style architecture. This is a rare case. In addition, the adjacent Ryusenji main hall is also a rare temple building that retains the shape of thatched roof, and forms the village landscape of the village of the Seishin district, which has a long history as a transportation hub along the middle road and plays an important role.
