100,000 hydrangeas are in full bloom
From early July (7) to early August (8), 100,000 hydrangeas bloom on the slopes of Mt. Tenjo. It takes about 50 minutes to climb the ropeway and about 70 minutes to walk up and down (round trip to Nakabadaira).
Gokoku Shrine is the entrance to the hiking course
As it is a mountain road, please walk with familiar athletic shoes
Access
From Kawaguchiko Station, walk toward the shore of Lake Kawaguchi for about 3 minutes, and when you reach Route 137, turn right and then immediately left. After walking for about 3 minutes, there is a fork on the left, so turn left and climb the slope for about 5 minutes to reach Gokoku Shrine. Gokoku Shrine is the entrance to the hiking course.

A popular course where you can see the Southern Alps, Northern Alps, Yatsugatake, and Okuchichibu Mountains in the distance.

Course description
Take the Fuji Kyuko bus bound for Kofu at Kawaguchiko Station and get off at ① Kawaguchi Station. From here, proceed toward Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, and go straight on at the fork at the end of the shrine to the mountain trail. If you climb the cypress and sugi forests while looking at the Terakawa and Sabo dams on the right,
② Mother Shirataki appears. It's so refreshing to see it flowing down from the top of the rock. As you go further, the bushes of the trees become thinner and the surroundings become brighter. After passing the Shirataki Observatory, go out to the forest road. Since this area is a logging area, you can see Mt. Fuji well. After proceeding for a while, climb the mountain trail again
③ To Mt. Kinashi. If there are many larch and fir trees on the road of Kumazasa, it is proof that it is finally approaching. See off the branch of the Misaka mountain trail on your left and reach Kinashiyama. The top of the mountain is a grassland zone, so let's take a break and enjoy the view.
④ You can reach Mitsutogeyama (Mt. Kaiun) by walking along the ridge road where the mountain hut is built for about 15 minutes. On the way back, go back from Mitsutogeyama and see off the branch to Mother No Shirataki.
⑤ Go down toward Shimoyama. On the way down the larch and thickets to the ridge, you can see the Misaka Mountains on Lake Kawaguchi, Saiko, and Mt. Fuji from between the branches. Go straight on the fork, pass Mt. Shimo, and cross the forest road to Mt. Tenjo. After enjoying the view to your heart's content, the end

⑦ Get off the bus at the Mitsutoge mountain trail and walk from there to reach the top of Mitsutoge in about 80 minutes.

One point advice
Coal tit and willow tit can be heard all over the mountaintop in spring, and singing accentor and wren can be heard in autumn. Another feature is that you can see alpine plants such as hosta, spider cherry tree, platanthera hologlot, and azalea. Fresh green in May and colored leaves in October to November are the best for mountain climbing, but since the mountain lodge is open all year round, you can freely choose the seasons you like, such as summer mountains and winter mountains (however, you need to have some equipment and attitude when it snows). The place to enjoy is also attractive. On the way back, without using the ropeway
